Apprenticeship Management Institute

AMI's Mission

The Apprenticeship Management Institute, established by Workforce Evolved, a Florida-based non-profit organization, is dedicated to facilitating entry into the middle class for underserved and underrepresented communities through comprehensive skills training. To do this, WFE has crafted a framework that helps mentors, managers, HR professionals, CEOs, and organizational administrators understand apprenticeship concepts that lead to well established and integrate-able programs. It is about acknowledging Apprenticeship as a Profession in which our resources provide a framework to manage and succeed in the scope of apprenticeship.

Strategic Goals and Partnerships

The institute embodies Workforce Evolved’s mission to champion equitable access to high-wage, high-demand careers. It accomplishes this by offering scholarships, comprehensive support services, and seamless transitions into well-paid apprenticeships, empowering women, minorities, and youth to excel in diverse industries.

Workforce Evolved is at the forefront of workforce development, connecting experts in federal grant writing, corporate training, and apprenticeship development to make a significant impact in the wireless industry. This includes transitioning underserved civilians and US Veterans into burgeoning wireless and broadband roles. The institute’s initiatives are supported by the NextGen Workforce Coalition, which includes influential partners like T-Mobile, Learning Alliance, and Ericsson, under the NextTech Diversity Program. Key objectives of WFE and AMI include:

  • Expanding apprenticeship knowledge through resources, frameworks and guides in a accessible and affordable manner that does not inhibit the sharing of Apprenticeship related information
  • Allow organizations to leverage the knowledge to build their own programs in their way to enhance training and operational efficiency internally
  • Training and certifying professionals in the Certified Associate Apprenticeship Manager – CAAM – or the Certified Professional Apprenticeship Manager – CPAM
  • Supporting regional growth clusters across the US to help Workforce Boards, Intermediaries, Employers, and Community Based Organizations Succeed at Apprenticeships
  • Develop the apprenticeship management integration framework in a way that promotes “Apprenticeship as a Profession”

Apprenticeship Management Integration Framework

The Apprenticeship Management Integration Framework (AMIF), developed by Workforce Evolved, is a comprehensive guide designed to support organizations in establishing and managing effective apprenticeship programs. The AMIF will help prepare individuals for certification exams in the Certified Associate Apprenticeship Manager and Certified Professional Apprenticeship Manager tracks.

Authored by Fred Arnold, Cesar Ruiz, and Ruth Tirado, the AMIF provides a step-by-step approach to creating structured apprenticeship initiatives that align with organizational goals and industry standards. The framework emphasizes the importance of strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and the integration of best practices in training and workforce development. It details methods for leveraging partnerships, utilizing federal grants, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Key components of the AMIF include the development of robust apprenticeship scorecards, the facilitation of mentor-apprentice communication, and the continuous assessment of program effectiveness through regular review cycles. Overall, the AMIF serves as an essential tool for organizations aiming to enhance their talent development strategies and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
